At JL Meridian, we aim to play an active role in supporting the health and wellbeing of individuals within the West Midlands community. If possible we aim to assist you in realising your potential in supporting others. Whilst we are not lucky enough to have limitless funds at our disposal, our tutors, our students and those already qualified, do have plenty of enthusiasm and willingness. Currently we offer what we feel we do best - massage. An additional benefit of this is that it helps our students to increase their experience of working with a diverse range of client needs and gain practical experience too. Everyone wins.
Below are a few examples of JL Meridian working within the community. We look forward to hearing from you!
Lloyds Bank 3 Day Charity Event for Mental Health UK
Thank you to our therapists giving their time to support athletes on the second leg of the Lloyds Bank 3 day charity fund raising event for Mental Health UK.
I was organising a large 100 mile charity bike ride. Julie and her student team provided, at short notice, a wonderful post-ride therapeutic massage service to the riders. The size of the queue was testimony to the wonderful treatment provided and JL Meridian really helped the riders' recovery. Many thanks for supporting the event.
Pink Ribbon Walk Berkswell Derby 2017
Many thanks to Breast Cancer Care for inviting Meridian student team to provide pre and post event massage to participants at the Pink Ribbon Walk in Berkswell.
As always it was a privilege for us to work with those that took part and allowed us to work with them, supporting their recovery from a few aches and pains after the event.
Thank you too, to our Holistic Sports and Remedial Therapists that gave up their day to travel to Berkswell. It was a fun and lovely day to share with nice weather and a great team!
We look forward to working again with this charity in 2018.
Christmas 2016 At the CRISIS Centre
At Christmas some of our therapists worked with the CRISIS homeless charity massaging their service users at a mindfulness week. Samantha Pagett, Christmas Coordinator in Birmingham, was kind enough to send a letter of thanks:
Please accept my sincerest thanks, on behalf of Crisis and all who benefit from our work for supporting us by donating your time to deliver massages on our mindfulness day. The feedback we got from the day was all really positive, with massage being an all-round favourite! Skilled volunteers such as yourselves made our members feel valued and improved their wellbeing.
JL Meridian would like to say a big thank you to all our students, both the experienced and the new, for using their skills to help make a difference. Well done.
We were thrilled to receive a letter of thanks from the charity ABplus for the massage work we were happy to donate in support of their excellence service. Maria Marras, Healthier Together Coordinator & Fareshare Supervisor, was kind enough to say:
I would like to express my deepest thanks to you and your team of students for the excellent service you provided to ABplus’ members and the staff that took part in ‘Healthier Together’ programme, from January to July 2016.

Student Work Experience 2016
This year our students have been working voluntarily once a month for the charity AB Plus in Birmingham’s city centre.
Many thanks to the charity for giving Meridian students such a warm welcome and fantastic opportunity to broaden their horizons on working with a variety of clients.

Work Experience with Clients Attending Sickle Cell Care Centre
Recently Meridian have been approached by Sickle Cell Care based in Bilston to provide a bank of qualified therapists to join their team.
Following successful completion of your training with Meridian at Holistic Diploma level 4, please meet with Course Director Julie Linton who will support you in referral to the Sickle Cell Centre to form part of their bank therapists. Your role will be providing cover for therapists who have arranged days of leave or on occasion unplanned absence.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a growing charity supporting those with this condition especially around pain relief. Our thanks go out to the charity for choosing Meridian to refer our qualified therapists
